While “Great Nations” are beating the drums for a new war in Syria, we regret the absence of any peace language among the big leaders of our world. And we regret most the lack of any human compassion towards millions of innocent Syrians who were forced to escape their land because of the war, its heat, horrific crimes, destruction, terror and violence. Those innocent Syrians are scattered away from their homes and deprived from the warmth of their families.

Lebanon accommodated over one million and seven hundred thousand displaced Syrians, almost half of its population, when the majority of the European countries forbad them the entry. We are wondering, did the countries that are beating today the drums of war bear a small fraction of the hardship due to the Syrian population displacement? Do they not realize that by beating the drums of war while calling for the very much appreciated conventions in support      of Lebanon, they are destroying all their efforts to lighten the burden on its shoulders of the area’s wars and their effects?

We call the “Great Nations” and the International Community to end the war and establish a global, just and lasting peace through political and diplomatic means only and not military. It is the right of the people of the Middle East region to live in peace.

To promote war is being very weak, while building peace is being very strong.

We call the leaders of the “Great Nations”, to keep in mind that everyone knows how wars start but no one knows how they end! Let them be mindful of God and listen to His voice in their consciences! Let them stop the war and put peace instead!
